Employers Accorded 48 Hours to Claim Foreign Workers at KLIA and KLIA2

Members are kindly informed that the Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) has issued a circular dated 19 May 2014 regarding the above matter.  Members can view the circular as per the link: -

PERLAKSANAAN KAJIAN TAHAP SOSIOEKONOMI PEKERJA ESTET TEMPATAN DAN KAITANNYA DENGAN SKIM PEMBIAYAAN RUMAH PEKERJA ESTET (SKRE)

     Managers are kindly informed that the Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Semenanjung Malaysia will be carrying out a survey involving the above.  Accordingly, Managers are advised to extend your full co-operation as and when the Officers from the Jabatan Tenaga Kerja visit your estate/mill for purposes of the above.

     We have received notification from the Director General of the Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Semenanjung Malaysia dated 28 February 2014, requesting for full co-operation on the matter.

WEEKLY DAY OF REST FOR

THE STATE OF JOHOR

The Johor State Government has announced that the weekly day of rest for the State would be changed from Saturday and Sunday to Friday and Saturday.

Managers are kindly informed that private sector companies and private sector organizations in Johor have the option either to maintain the existing weekly day of rest or choose to follow the changes in the State Government's official weekly day of rest.

Please refer to the regional circular addressed to Managers on the matter.
